- Whenever possible use organic ingredients for their superior taste and nutrition content, these products are also GMO free.

- Always use organic whole wheat flour for every recipe possible, cakes, breads, rolls, muffins and even pie crusts.

- Get extra essential fatty acids in your diet by letting 1 LB of butter soften to room temperature and mix in 1 cup of flax oil or Udo's oil. Store in fridge.

- Only use coconut oil for frying at high temperatures as this does not create toxins. Olive oil can also be used for frying at med-med high temperatures.

-Never use non stick cook and bakeware as dangerous chemicals and toxins are released during the heating process.

- Read food labels carefully. Watch out for extra added sugar, chemicals, hydrogenated oils and dyes.

Stay away from all processed meat, cheese and grocery items as these are usually loaded with unwanted salt, fat and chemicals. The nutritional value is very low in these products.

- Rinse all fruits and vegetables carefully and if possible wash then with a fruit and vegetable wash to get rid of all chemicals and sprays.

- When baking, add 1\2 cup of ground flax seed or wheat bran to up the nutritional value of recipes, and the colon cleansing properties. Some places to do this are cookies, muffins and breads.

- Use butter or cold pressed oil in baking. Never shortening or margarine, which adds trans fats and chemicals. Margarine is but one molecule away from plastic.

- Rather that buying traditional freezies for kids, pour natural juices into molds for a tasty treat. Also use pudding or yogurt for something different.

- Give your children water first thing when they wake up, as dehydration is one of the causes for poor concentration. Dehydration can also spur on allergic reactions as histamine is released as the body's defense mechanism for storing water in the body when under stress.

- A rule of thumb for water requirements is one 8-oz glass per day for every 1 year of age, up to 10-15 per day.

- Feed your children protein first thing in the morning as it takes longer to digest, as hunger is one of the top reasons for children acting out and having difficulty concentrating.

- Try to never mix meats and starches together at a meal for optimum digestion.
